Theoretical studies on flapped delta wings
The effects of leading edge flaps on the aerodynamic characteristics of a low aspect-ratio delta wing are studied theoretically. As an extension of the classical crossflow plane analysis and in order to include separated shear layers, an analogy between three dimensional steady conical and two dimensional unsteady self-similar flows is explored. This analogy provides a simple steady-unsteady relationship. The criteria for the validity of the steady-unsteady analogy are also examined. Two different theoretical techniques are used to represent the separated shear layers based on the steady-unsteady analogy, neglecting the trailing edge effect. In the first approach, each vortex system is represented by a pair of concentrated vortices connected to the separation points by straight feeding sheets. In the second approach, the vortex cloud method is adopted for simulating the flow field in the crossflow plane. The separated shear layers are replaced with a cloud of discrete vortices and the boundary element method is employed to represent the wing trace by a vorticity distribution. A simple merging scheme is used to model the core region of the vortical flow as a single vortex by imposing a restriction on the shear layer rotation angle. The results are compared with experiments and with results from 3-D panel calculations
-kaon cross section in meson exchange model
We calculate the cross section for the dissociation of by kaons
within the framework of a meson exchange model including anomalous parity
interactions. Off-shell effects at the vertices were handled with QCD sum rule
estimates for the running coupling constants. The total -kaon cross
section was found to be mb for 4.1\leq\sqrt{s}\leq5 \GeV.Comment: 13 pages, 4 eps figure

Experimentally realizable control fields in quantum Lyapunov control
As a hybrid of techniques from open-loop and feedback control, Lyapunov
control has the advantage that it is free from the measurement-induced
decoherence but it includes the system's instantaneous message in the control
loop. Often, the Lyapunov control is confronted with time delay in the control
fields and difficulty in practical implementations of the control. In this
paper, we study the effect of time-delay on the Lyapunov control, and explore
the possibility of replacing the control field with a pulse train or a
bang-bang signal. The efficiency of the Lyapunov control is also presented
through examining the convergence time of the controlled system. These results
suggest that the Lyapunov control is robust gainst time delay, easy to realize
and effective for high-dimensional quantum systems
Bell inequalities for three particles
We present tight Bell inequalities expressed by probabilities for three four-
and five-dimensional systems. The tight structure of Bell inequalities for
three -dimensional systems (qudits) is proposed. Some interesting Bell
inequalities of three qubits reduced from those of three qudits are also

Determination of Intrinsic Ferroelectric Polarization in Orthorhombic Manganites with E-type Spin Order
By directly measuring electrical hysteresis loops using the Positive-Up
Negative-Down (PUND) method, we accurately determined the remanent
ferroelectric polarization Pr of orthorhombic RMnO3 (R = Ho, Tm, Yb, and Lu)
compounds below their E-type spin ordering temperatures. We found that LuMnO3
has the largest Pr of 0.17 uC/cm^2 at 6 K in the series, indicating that its
single-crystal form can produce a Pr of at least 0.6 \muuC/cm^2 at 0 K.
Furthermore, at a fixed temperature, Pr decreases systematically with
increasing rare earth ion radius from R = Lu to Ho, exhibiting a strong
correlation with the variations in the in-plane Mn-O-Mn bond angle and Mn-O
distances. Our experimental results suggest that the contribution of the Mn t2g
orbitals dominates the ferroelectric polarization.Comment: 16 pages, 4 figure
Evidence of unconventional low-frequency dynamics in the normal phase of Ba(Fe1-xRhx)2As2 iron-based supercondutors
This work presents 75As NMR spin echo decay rate (1/T2) measurements in
Ba(Fe1-xRhx)2As2 superconductors, for 0.041 < x < 0.094. It is shown that 1/T2
increases upon cooling, in the normal phase, suggesting the onset of an
unconventional very low-frequency activated dynamic. The correlation times of
the fluctuations and their energy barriers are derived. The motion is favored
at large Rh content, while it is hindered by the application of a magnetic
field perpendicular to the FeAs layers. The same dynamic is observed in the
spin-lattice relaxation rate, in a quantitatively consistent manner. These
results are discussed in the light of nematic fluctuations involving domain
wall motion. The analogies with the behaviour observed in the cuprates are also
outlined
Higher Derivative CP(N) Model and Quantization of the Induced Chern-Simons Term
We consider higher derivative CP(N) model in 2+1 dimensions with the
Wess-Zumino-Witten term and the topological current density squared term. We
quantize the theory by using the auxiliary gauge field formulation in the path
integral method and prove that the extended model remains renormalizable in the
large N limit. We find that the Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory is dynamically
induced in the large N effective action at a nontrivial UV fixed point. The
